As you trek down the estate you come across different plantation activities. Cardamom, Vetiver, Sial, Strawberry, coffee and other spices. Once you cross the boundary of the estate you would be interested to continue the trekking downhill to near by village cum tea plantation called. Attukad meaning forest by the river in Tamil. The best time to do trekking in Munnar is from September to March.
The resort also provide mountain bikes on hire. The services of guide also available. It is a wonderful experience to do biking along the tractor tracks of the tea estates. There are several roads less crowded where you would be safe to do biking, such as along the picturesque banks of Munnar Dam, leading towards the High Range Club, towards Chokkanad tea estate and to Devikulam, Towards Lakshmi hills from the Old Munnar junction. The narrow road that from the resort leading to the next village called Bison Valley is also beautiful biking track. However this track has lot of downhill drive and sharp curves. If you are a seasoned expert Munnar is an excellent destination to conduct a series fo mountain biking activity
Soft Jeep Safari:
A soft jeep safari ranging from two hours, half day and full is arranged from the resort. There are a number of select locations that are less crowded and sometimes nil crowded to invest some quality time with nature and the abundant biodiversity of Munnar and the surrounding Kanan Devan Hills. Some of these safari points excellent locations for photography, birding watching and soft trekking and nature walk. A short safari from the one estate to another estate would roughly takes two hours. A half day trip towards the nearby Bison valley village would enrich you with multiple experience of tea plantations, cardamom plantation and processing, local village life style and agriculture activities, including cultivation of cash crops like rubber, coco, and spices ranging from ginger, turmeric, black pepper, cloves nutmeg etc.
A jeep safari towards Kolukumalai Tea estate would take little more than a half day trip. Kolukumalai jeep safari is best done at the early morning trip, where you could also watch the sunrise. A packed brunch would be an ideal food companion for this trip. A good camera for photography and light woolen of wind sheets, a cap etc are recommended for this trip.
Similarly a full day jeep safari to Chinnar Wild life sanctuary is also enriching experience for both for nature lovers and nature fun seekers alike. The diversity of the landscape, flora and fauna would certainly ignite some spark in the ordinary human mind to start afresh thinking about the future generations. This safari is best done with a guide / naturalist accompanying you, covering bird watching, sandal wood forest visit, water falls, Anchinadu villages, stone age dolmens and terrace farming etc.
